Disability in Uganda

In addition to serving as the Executive Director of Pearls of Africa, I did a tremendous amount of photography for the organization and the larger cause.

The photographs were used for organizational literature, and were meant to convey the realities of life with a disability in Uganda, to debunk a “pitiful” characterization of people with disabilities, and to advance the dignity with which they live every day.

These photographs were shot with 35 mm film.
